About Me

I am a highly experienced specialist dyslexia tutor and assessor with over ten years’ experience working in secondary education and specialist learning support settings. My background combines education, occupational therapy, and specialist literacy intervention, enabling me to take a holistic, learner-centred approach to support.
I hold a First Class degree in Occupational Therapy, a PGCE in Secondary Education (Art and Design), and have worked extensively within schools for over a decade. I have also worked as an Academic Mentor for Maths in a secondary school, supporting pupils to build confidence, understanding, and effective learning strategies in mathematics.
For seven years, I worked within a CReSTeD-accredited Learning Support Unit as a specialist dyslexia tutor with accredited teacher status, alongside my role as an Assistant SENCo. In these roles, I supported pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, ADHD, and associated learning differences.
I have recently completed a PGCert in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia), strengthening my expertise in dyslexia identification, assessment, and evidence-based intervention. I am also Youth Mental Health First Aid trained, which informs my work with young people and allows me to provide support that recognises the close link between learning, wellbeing, and emotional resilience.
I am passionate about helping learners understand how they learn, build self-confidence, and develop practical strategies that enable them to thrive academically and beyond.
